The rules for using Tapet, in plain language.

These terms are an agreement between you and Tapet LLC ("we", "us"), PO Box 23655, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33307, United States, covering the Tapet apps (for Android and iPhone, and Tapet Desktop for Mac and Windows) and the tapet.app website. By installing or using Tapet, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Tapet.
Anyone can use Tapet to create wallpapers. Creating an account is what carries an age requirement, because signing in shares your email address and name with us: accounts are for ages 13 and up, or older where local law sets a higher age. If you are under 18, use Tapet with your parent's or guardian's permission, and buy something only with their approval. If you use Tapet on an account managed by someone else, such as a family organizer, that person is responsible for purchases made on it.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Tapet on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms. The app itself, its patterns, its code, its design and the Tapet name remain ours. You may not copy, sell, rent, reverse engineer, or try to extract the source of the app, except where the law says you may.
Wallpapers are generated on your device. You may keep, save, print, and share the wallpapers you create with Tapet, including for commercial purposes, and we claim no ownership over them. You may not present Tapet's patterns themselves as your own creation or build a competing wallpaper generator from them. If you create a palette from your own photo, that photo remains yours and stays on your device. The same applies to wallpapers you open from a link someone sent you and to Editor Picks, the wallpapers we choose and offer in the app: you may use, edit, save and share them as you would your own.
When you send a wallpaper as a link, we store it, and pictures of it, so that anyone who has the link can open it on the web or in Tapet, use it and edit it. You do not need an account to send or open a link. A link cannot be edited or withdrawn from inside the app, so send it only to people you want to have it; if you want one taken down, email us its address. We may remove a link or its pictures at any time, for example if it is used to abuse the service, and we do not promise that a link will keep working forever. A wallpaper that uses a pattern newer than the recipient's app may need them to update the app first.
Tapet Desktop is a companion app that shows on your computer the wallpapers you send it from the Tapet phone app, and changes your computer's desktop picture to do so. It works only together with the phone app and an account: you link a computer by approving it in the phone app while signed in, and a linked computer can then see every wallpaper you send to your computers. Link only computers you control, and unlink any computer you no longer use, sell or lose, from the phone or from the computer itself. Sending wallpapers to a computer, and linking one, may require Premium or a Desktop subscription; the phone app shows what each includes before you buy. If what you bought no longer covers it, your linked computers keep the wallpapers they already have but may stop receiving new ones. Tapet Desktop stores the wallpapers it receives on the computer, and you are responsible for that computer and for anyone else who uses it.
An account is optional and is created by signing in with Google or Apple. Keep control of the account you sign in with, because anyone with access to it can reach your Tapet data. You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the app, which also deletes the data synced to it and the wallpapers sent to your computers, and signs out every linked computer (links you already sent keep working for the people who have them). We may suspend or end an account that is used to abuse the service or to break these terms.
Tapet is free to use, with optional one-time purchases, subscriptions, and donations. All payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, under their terms, and your purchase is tied to your store account rather than to a Tapet account. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in the store, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period. Prices may change, and a change to a subscription price is handled by the store, which will ask you to confirm it. Refunds are granted by Google or Apple under their policies, not by us, though you are welcome to write to us and we will help where we can. Donations are voluntary, buy no features, and are not refundable by us. Premium features last as long as the purchase or subscription that unlocks them: when a subscription ends, or a purchase is refunded or revoked by the store, those features stop, and settings that need Premium go back to their free defaults (your choices are kept and come back if you subscribe again). We sometimes let you try premium content for free, for example a premium pattern; that is a courtesy and does not include Premium itself. If a purchase does not unlock, use Restore Purchase in the app, and email us if that does not resolve it. Features that work across your devices, such as Tapet Desktop, rely on purchases we have checked with the store, so for those you need to be signed in on the device you bought on.
Do not use Tapet to break the law, do not interfere with or overload our services, do not try to gain access to accounts, computers or data that are not yours, and do not tamper with the purchase or entitlement checks. Do not approve a link code for a computer that is not yours. Do not use links to wallpapers to store or pass around anything other than Tapet wallpapers. If you point Tapet at your own photos, make sure you have the right to use them.
We improve Tapet continuously, which means patterns, effects and features can be added, changed or removed, and some features are offered as tests to a portion of users who allow usage analytics. We try to avoid removing things people rely on, but we cannot promise that any particular feature will always exist. Cloud sync, links, Tapet Desktop and Editor Picks depend on our providers and may occasionally be unavailable.
Tapet works with services we do not control, including Google Play, the Apple App Store and Mac App Store, the Microsoft Store, Google and Apple sign-in, your computer's operating system, the apps you use to send links, and our hosting, notification and analytics providers. Their terms apply to the parts they provide. Our Privacy Policy explains what data goes where.
Tapet is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that generated wallpapers will suit any particular purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost data, or for lost profits arising from your use of Tapet. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tapet is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty five US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of Broward County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
We may update these terms, and we will change the date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Tapet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
